The report of SVIRIDOVA Nina (Meiji Institute for Advanced Study of Mathematical Sciences, Meiji University, Tokyo) "Local noise sensitivity in chaotic systems and experimental data".

Nonlinear signals produced by complex systems are utilized in a wide range of fields from mechanical and agricultural engineering to medical and biological sciences. When properly analyzed, these signals may provide rich information about process dynamics. However, in natural systems the presence of noise is almost unavoidable. For decades, despite improvements in both measurement and analysis techniques, the presence of noise in experimentally obtained nonlinear time series has been a serious problem that limits data applicability. When dealing with chaotic dynamics, which have both certain order and some random aspects, noise contamination in experimental data becomes an especially challenging issue. Although understanding chaotic dynamics and noise interaction mechanisms is important for both theoretical and applied studies, the effects of noise on chaotic dynamics are not well studied.  In this talk study on noise-chaotic dynamics interactions by exploration of the local determinism of noise-induced chaotic systems and experimental human photoplethysmogram will be discussed.
